Kettenbach GmbH & Co. KG. can look back to a more than 40 year history in the manufacture of medical absorbent materials made of pure cotton and regenerated cellulose. Today Kettenbach GmbH & Co. KG is one of the leading manufacturers of absorbent medical sponges. Due to the constant improvement and our high quality standard, we have successfully explored new areas of application. Üblicherweise wird Nelkenöl/Zinkoxid als provisorisches Verschluss- und temporäres Füllungsmaterial auf einer ausreichend dicken Dentinschicht angewendet. Hierbei werden sich die guten desinfizierenden und sedativen Eigenschaften zunutze gemacht. Gegenüber normalen Unterfüllungsmaterialien wird das Präparat deshalb gerne bei reversiblen pulpitischen Beschwerden (Zahnschmerzen ohne wesentliche entzündliche Veränderungen der Pulpa) eingesetzt. Ein direkter Kontakt mit der eröffneten Pulpa sollte vermieden werden, da das im Nelkenöl enthaltene Eugenol eine Gewebsschädigung hervorrufen kann. Zudem wird Nelkenöl/Zinkoxid zur Wurzelkanalfüllung, zur Unterfüllung sowie zur Wundbehandlung verwendet.
