About us
In 1987, LASERVISION was founded as a joint venture between UVEX (protective work equipment) and Rupp + Hubrach (corrective glasses). In record time, LASERVISION established itself as a leading company in laser safety eyewear.

Today, LASERVISION is a well known global player and with 30 employees, is a market leader in technology and possesses a portfolio of products. LASERVISION develops, manufactures and markets laser safety products, concentrating on safety eyewear.

Early in 2004 the UVEX group took over the shares from Rupp + Hubrach which now makes LASERVISION a wholly-owned subsidiary of UVEX. The protective work equipment manufacturer and laser safety eyewear specialists form a synergetic partnership bringing benefits to both areas.

Research and Development

LASERVISION’s own research department targets innovative solutions to protect your eyes. By actively engaging with various national and international standardisation institutes for laser safety regulations (international level: ISO/TC94/SC6 – Occupational Eye-Protection; European level: TC85 – Eye-Protective Equipment; national level: Normenausschuss Feinmechanik und Optik NaFuO/AA Augen-schutz), LASERVISION has become a com-petent partner in safety.

In addition, LASERVISION participates in international research projects for laser safety (e.g. SAFEST), has established close cooperation with scientific research institutes in Germany and Europe, and transfers the knowledge gained in this work to their own products. This means that customers of LASERVISION always benefit from the state of the art in science and technology.

Company Philosophy

LASERVISION has committed itself to a stringent safety philosophy. Exceeding the legal minimum requirements of the CE-mark, LASERVISION’s products and production facilities are subject to close supervision and quality testing by independent institutes.

Laser Protection with Binocular Magnifiers 06.10.2008

Magnifying loupes available with laser protective filters now

When working on small areas with lasers like in medical or micro-machining applications, it is often advisable to have an enlarged view. From the point of laser protection, however, this is not a small problem. Magnifying lenses increase the power/energy density and therefore they need to be taken into consideration when adequate laser protection is selected.

Therefore experts strongly recommend magnifying loupes equipped with extra laser protective filters to block the laser radiation before it enters the loupe and before it can be focussed and in addition appropriate laser eyewear in order to protect the user from laser radiation that would otherwise reach his eyes beyond the magnifying loupe.

With the new binocular magnifier LASERVISION now offers a new solution that covers almost any kind of dental as well as many of other medical laser applications. LASERVISION uses multiple coatings for reduced light reflection, which creates a brilliant, bright picture. The loupe is due to the low weight of less than 80g comfortable to wear. It is dustproof and waterproof and easy to clean and disinfect.

Laser safety filters can be selected from a great variety according to the application requirements. Custom-made solutions are possible, too.

New Laser Protective Goggle for Patients 06.10.2008

For medical laser applications the eye protection of the patient is very important. Therefore Laservision offers an especially developed Laser protective goggle apart from the common eyeball protector for the medical sector. Due to a special developed and patented material this frame provides an extremely high protection level and a good comfortable wear at the same time. Furthermore the goggle can easily be sterilized and can be worn by adults as well as by children. The feather weight product allows comfortable wear for longer procedures as well. It is only a goggle for patients and has been developed with the assistance of Medicines and Laser manufacturers for laser applications in close proximity to the eye.

This frame has been tested for all standard laser wavelengths and is certified according to DIN EN and shows the CE marking. In combination with the right filter type the frame offers reliable protection at almost all medical laser applications. Because of further product optimization this goggle can be completed with a metal cap and then be used instead of our successful eyeball protector.

Super sight by well-priced P1205 06.10.2008

New filter with excellent colour view blocks Alexandrite and multitude of Diode wavelengths

Alexandrite and especially Diode wavelengths are used at a progressive rate in various kinds of medical laser applications. Most of the absorbing filter materials utilized against such wavelengths have had a green colour which remarkably diminishes the colour recognition during work.

LASERVISION now introduce their new pink filter P1205 which provides excellent colour recognition, especially in the red, which has always been an important issue in medical treatments for example. The filter is made of polycarbonate which is usually less in both, weight and price, compared to mineral glass filters.

LASERVISION’s new P1205 blocks Alexandrite and Diode lasers from 730 to 855nm with a peak at 755-840nm where it provides I L7 for pulsed and D L5 for cw lasers according to EN 207 and OD 7+, respectively. Furthermore UV protection at 190-375nm is included.

The filter is available in three different frame styles: the sportive curved LAMBDA ONE model, LASERVISION’s most popular VISION spectacles and the SKYLINE model that fits over almost any ordinary glasses.
